Location and Facility

Plymouth Congregational Church is located in Racine, Wisconsin, on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Our church is located on the corner of College Avenue and Twelfth Street – less than three blocks from Lake Michigan.

Although the church building is almost 100 years old, the facilities are modern and fully handicapped accessible. We also have a new, modern nursery. There is a lighted parking lot adjacent to the church.

Worship Information

Our worship services are meaningful, upbeat, and relevant while remaining true to our mission: "To turn seekers into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ."

10:30 AM Sunday worship at Plymouth is an inter-generational affair. Children join adults at the beginning of the service and then proceed to national award winning Sunday School classes after J.J.'s "Kidz Korner." Following worship, everyone gets together for coffee, punch, snacks, and fellowship.

Our new, well-equipped, modern nursery (staffed by select volunteers) is always available for infant and pre-school care.

Music is an important part of our worship. The words to the songs appear on the large screen up front. Everyone is invited to join in singing. The choir and our soloists are there to lead us.

Music Professor, Dr. James McKeever is at the newly restored James Lockwood pipe organ. The Choir is under the direction of Brad Charles. Brad is also the director of the Barber Shop Quartets of Milwaukee. Brad and his wife, Nancy are also members of the National Champion Mixed Quartet "Heart to Heart." We also have frequent special performances by our fine instrumental and vocal soloists.

We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is a time when we remember Christ's sacrificial death for our sins. All believers are invited to join us. First the bread will be passed. Take a portion, remembering Christ's suffering. We will then eat the bread together. Next, the tray with small cups of grape juice will be distributed. Take a cup, remembering Christ's blood. We will then drink the juice together. Please place your empty cups in the cup holders on the back of the pews.

Plymouth is known as a church of prayer. During the worship service people are given the opportunity to share their prayer concerns. If you have any special needs or prayer requests, you are invited to join us for this time of prayer.

As our guest, you should not feel obligated to give an offering. This part of the service is for those who have committed to give back to God through tithes and offerings so that we can participate in God's work.

The sermon, based on a lesson from the Bible, helps us to understand God's Word and apply His teachings to our everyday life.

Special services are held during the Christmas and Easter seasons to enhance those special times.

Denomination/Affiliation

With Christ as Head, the congregation of Plymouth Congregational Church is the sole authority of all matters in the Church and is the sole owner of the Church’s properties. This authority includes our choice of ministers.

We are affiliated in fellowship with the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (descended from the Pilgrims, 1620), and the Wisconsin Congregational Association (affiliated with the NACCC).We voluntarily support these bodies but are not bound by their actions.

Because of the loyalty of the membership and leadership of the ministers, Plymouth Church provides the opportunity for Christian growth, Christian service, and is an integral part of the spiritual life of the community.
